BiotechnologyA man, reportedly vomiting on a plane from West Africa over the weekend, has tested negative for Ebola. The man became sick on a flight from Guinea and was taken to Notre-Dame Hospital at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday. He was placed in isolation pending the results of tests for the deadly disease.

There are two Montreal hospitals that have been set up to deal with suspected Ebola cases. Children suspected of carrying the disease will be treated at the Sainte-Justine Hospital, adults at Notre-Dame Hospital. Lab results for Ebola normally take 12 – 24 hours.

This was the third suspected case of Ebola in Quebec. In the previous cases in Montreal and Gatineau, the patients both tested negative for the deadly virus.
