The image of a 3-year-old Syrian boy washed up on a Turkish beach has captured the worlds attention. When confronted with this latest “viral” image to come out of the Syrian conflict, many people have expressed shock, horror, grief and anger. And many have also tried to help.

But who do you give your money too??? This is often a challenge – NPR just ran a great piece on this very issue and I think it is worthy of your attention. It mentions several agencies that I have never heard of that are in the region, working with Syrian refugees and doing important work.

While enjoying your three day weekend, take a moment to reach out to help these people in tremendous need. I was really impressed with the Migrate Offshore Aid Station that rescues people on those packed, sinking boats. They use drones to find them and the dispatch small boats to pick up the passengers. http://www.moas.eu/
